At Locavore we know how hard it can be to find a space to start or scale a project or business. That’s why we want to offer some of our spare spaces to people who have good ideas but need somewhere to work from. We could also do with some extra cash at the moment… but rents would be be below standard commercial rates. If you are interested in any of these spaces drop us an email (spaces@locavore.scot) with a bit of info about you, what you want a space for, and which of the spaces you are interested in from the photos below.
Bellahouston Urban Farm
We took over Bellahouston Nursery from Glasgow City Council formally in 2022 when we signed a 20 year lease on the site. The site is about 5 acres and we currently grow organic produce in a number of the polytunnels. It’s home to our flower garden, community plots and we have some of our own office space here too.
The site is located here in Bellahouston Park in Glasgow, a few minutes walk from Dumbreck Station.
Our vision is to develop the site over the years into a sustainable food hub with different businesses and projects working out of the site. We’ve got a long way to go to create this but we are at the beginning of this journey.
There’s lots of different kinds of spaces here that are currently available to community projects, social enterprises, sustainable businesses, environmental artists or any other use that has an environmental or food angle. Maybe you need a small studio, storage container, desk, glasshouse space, a workshop or even just some yard space.
Below are some of the spaces that might be available:
