Hello Folks,
Late summer is peak season for diverse salads, with lots of the Asian greens (and purples) that we started sowing around midsummer at peak productivity. As a result we have no less than 9 different types of salad leaf in our mixed salad harvest this week.
Keeping with the Asian theme we’re also planting out pak choi and Chinese cabbage. And there’s no need to buy in garlic from China here, as most supermarkets do. Most of our Neilston crop has just come out of the ground, with several thousand bulbs curing in our greenhouse in preparation for winter storage.
The Open Food Network is open for orders for next week. We’ll be adding more produce from our market gardens to the online shop in the coming weeks.
Remember to check out our veggiepedia for suggestions on what to do with your veg, and if you’ve only just started your subscription, you can join us and your fellow subscribers in our Facebook group.
