Hello Folks,
With your Good Food Fund donations we send fresh fruit and veg to independent foodbanks and community meals that support people living in food poverty. Central and West Integration Network is visited mainly by asylum seekers who are offered a meal and a food bag weekly. They have used our donations recently for a pilot project that involved the people who come to the meal in the planning and cooking of the food. The project created a sense of purpose and pride for this group of people who otherwise rarely get a chance to contribute their skills.
A slightly rocky start to our mixed fruit bag, we were due to have a mix of flat peaches and apricots this week, but due to an issue on the suppliers end, we’ve been given more flat peaches in substitution for the apricots they were unable to supply. You’ll be getting bumper bags of peaches instead this week, and we’re very much hoping to be back on track for mixed bags next week!
