It’s time to start planning for the busiest few weeks of the year, so here’s the info you need to know about how your veg box deliveries will work over Christmas.
We are delivering in the week running up to Christmas, but your delivery will arrive two days earlier than usual:
Orders normally on Wednesdays will arrive on Monday 20th December Orders normally on Thursdays will arrive on Tuesday 21st December Orders normally on Fridays will arrive on Wednesday 22nd December Orders normally on Saturdays will arrive on Thursday 23rd December
The order change deadline for the week beginning 20th December will be 9am on 13th December. That’s a week earlier than usual, and it’s just to make sure we can get everything set up in time for the earlier deliveries. Of course we’ll do our best to help if you need to request something after this time, but we won’t be able to guarantee any order changes or pauses for that week if emailed in after 9am on the 13th, so please let us know of any pauses or changes as soon as you can.
The Online Veg Box Shop will open for orders in the week beginning 20th December on Wednesday, 15th December, and close at 9am on Saturday, 18th December. We’ll send out a reminder when we open it and when it’s closing.
We’ll be closed in the week beginning 27th December– there will be no deliveries.
The boxes in the week running up to Christmas will be their normal size, so if you need extra veg to last through the week when we’re closed, or to cater for visitors, we suggest moving up a size. We’ve got estimated quantities below to help you decide.
If you receive fortnightly deliveries and would usually receive a delivery in the week running up to Hogmanay (that’s “fortnightly 1” on the old system, or “even weeks” in the new system), please note you’ll miss a delivery as we’ll be closed that week. If you’d like to receive your delivery a week early, please let us know by 9am on the 13th.
Locavore also offers a Christmas range – trees, handmade wreaths, roasting joints, goodies from our kitchen, and more. These can’t be delivered alongside your veg box. The trees can be delivered separately, and all other items are collection-only. You can find out more and see what’s available here.

These are the approximate contents to help you plan your Christmas week. Our contents lists are always subject to change, and this is doubly true for these, as we aren’t yet certain on availability, but this is what we expect the veg boxes in the week leading up to Christmas to look like. We’ve included weights and amounts, but these are approximate and only give an indication of what we expect to include. We will publish an updated list closer to the time.
