Hello Folks,
Welcome back to the wonderful world of Locavore veg boxes. I hope you’re all feeling refreshed after our break- I know I can’t wait for a 2020 of cooking, eating, and sharing recipes and meals! We have some lovely boxes for you to kick things off, with golden beetroot shining prettily in a salad or glowing roasted (perhaps alongside leeks and turnips). Shredded cabbage can add a crunch to your kimchi or coleslaw, or maybe a little flavour to a Sunday morning bubble and squeak. In the fruit bags, we have oranges and kumquats for a double-citrus kick, as well as apples and pears from the UK, as we continue to make the most of the season. Why not master your apple pies or poached pears this year? Meanwhile, the supplementary veg bags present mushrooms, tomatoes, and garlic, for a change of flavour and texture, suggesting pasta dishes, or perhaps something with puff pastry. Whatever you make, I hope it’s tasty and full of delight!
Good Food Fund
Why not consider upping your donation to the Good Food Fund this new year? Many charities experience a drop-off in donation after Christmas, but the need doesn’t go away, so this is a great time to donate.
You can donate via the Open Food Network shop, or email us to set up a recurring donation.
