Veg Box Newsletter 24th December: Happy Holidays from the Veg Box Team

I’d like to wish you all a very merry Christmas, and a happy Hogmanay to boot!

It’s been a pleasure writing to you each week, from my kitchen to yours, throughout this hard year. I love seeing what you cook and hearing your thoughts on the best ways to use up an onion surplus, or how to make do during an onion shortage. I hope you’ve enjoyed the rollercoaster ride of eating seasonally, and that you’re as excited as I am to do it all again.

We’re now closed until 4th January, but please feel free to get in touch, as someone should be around to help.

Depending on the news this evening– as I write it’s all still being doled out– we may have another challenging year ahead of us, but we can’t wait to get back to work filling all your veg boxes with delicious local organic produce. We have the veg ordered for our first week back, so see below for an extra-early preview.

You should have received our festive recipe booklet in your delivery this week or last, but just in case, there’s a PDF of it here– please feel free to share it with anyone who might be interested. It’s an honour to hear that some of you are cooking our recipes this year, and to be included in your celebrations.

The Veg Box Online Shop is Now Open!

The Online Veg Box Shop is open for deliveries in the week beginning 4th January!

You can get ahead with your ordering for the new year now! If you’re giving Veganuary a go, our online shop is a brilliant resource, with all the staples you’ll need. Our tofu is the extra-firm kind you don’t need to press, making it as easy as is versatile. Just chop and fry, or coat in cornflower for an extra-crispy finish. It’s perfect for the addictive tasty recipes like Meera Sodha’s chilli tofu. Vegan block will make sure you don’t miss butter, and Minor Figures uk-made oat milk will keep your tea tasting just the way you like it. Popcorn, drizzled with olive oil and sprinkled with nutritional yeast, will be the snack you turn to to brighten up the long dark evenings. And don’t forget some Suma baked beans, the cornerstone of a quick supper, and all you need to turn a baked potato into a comforting vegan treat.

The deadline for your order will be 11pm Monday 4th January.
