Bellahouston Plots

We’re delighted to have secured a long term lease on Bellahouston Nursery, a former Council plant nursery which is within Bellahouston Park in Glasgow.

We’ve got loads of plans for the site but the one we want to get going with right away is creating community growing space and individual growing plots for people to learn more about growing their own food.

Our plots will be raised beds around 1.2mx1.2 or 1.2mx2.4m which is an ideal size of growing space from which to try out food growing for the first time.

As well as getting a plot you’ll be part of the project and contribute to the whole process of creating the new growing space. This includes helping to build and fill the raised beds and being able to attend sessions learning more about food growing basics such as sowing seeds, transplanting and harvesting.

This will include drop in sessions where you can ask our Community Grower for help and advice as you go through your food growing journey.

We want to make this project sustainable beyond our initial funding so we’re asking people to consider if they can afford to make a donation towards the cost of the plot and programme. It’s not all about money though and a good proportion of plots will be allocated to people who aren’t able to make a financial contribution.

If you’d like to sign up for a plot please fill in the form below and we’ll get back to you soon.
